Mr. Scofield is a clinical ethicist and co-directs the Fellowship Program with Dr. Michael Szego. He is also an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Family & Community Medicine at the University of Toronto. Mr. Scofield is a graduate of Princeton University, New York University School of Law, and Yale Divinity School. He has completed fellowships in clinical ethics at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, and Craig Hospital (Englewood, Colorado), as well as a Fellowship in Clinical and Organizational Ethics at the University of Toronto Joint Centre for Bioethics. His current research interests include: the professionalization of health care ethics consultation, end-of-life decision-making the proper care and treatment of catastrophically injured persons, and theological ethics. His publications include articles in the Hastings Center Report, the Journal of Law, Medicine and Ethics, and the Journal of Clinical Ethics.
