Clinical Ethicist, Unity Health Toronto
Juhee Makkar is a Clinical Ethicist with the Centre for Clinical Ethics (CCE), working at Unity Health Toronto, the St. Joseph’s Health Centre site. She earned a Juris Doctor (JD) and Master of Health Science (Bioethics) from the University of Toronto. Juhee previously worked as a lawyer and has extensive experience in health policy and health administration. She completed a fellowship in clinical, organizational, and research ethics with the CCE. Juhee is currently a member of a provincial Research Ethics Board (REB) and has previously served on hospital REBs as well. As part of her practice, Juhee engages with a variety of ethical issues and has a particular interest in women’s and children’s health, organizational ethics, and social justice.
