Alexandra Campbell, J.D., LL.M., MHSc. (Bioethics)

Clinical Ethicist

Alexandra Campbell is a Clinical Ethicist with the Centre for Clinical Ethics (CCE), working at Unity Health Toronto, Providence Healthcare and St. Michael’s Hospital sites. After working as a lawyer for several years, primarily in criminal law, Alexandra completed the M.H.Sc. (bioethics) at the University of Toronto’s Joint Centre for Bioethics. She then completed a fellowship in clinical, organizational, and research ethics with the CCE. Alexandra holds a J.D. and B.C.L. from McGill University, and an LL.M. and M.H.Sc. (bioethics) from the University of Toronto. As an undergraduate, she studied English literature, as well as psychology, at Queen’s University. She has a particular interest in restrictions on patient liberty in healthcare, public health ethics, mental health ethics, and, generally speaking, areas of tension between individual and community interests.
